Gerhardt has worked as a consultant in a number of Industries outside of the Dry Goods Industry, as well as different Business areas. These include the Sales and Order-To-Cash Business areas and Meat, Bakery and Dairy Industries.

In his previous roles as Channel / Category Sales Development Manager – Coffee & Beverages as well as the Chocolate Business Units for Nestlé’s Southern Africa Region - Gerhardt was responsible for translating the Category & Brand Plans that get formulated by the Business Units (Marketing), into various Category Objectives, Strategies and Plans for each of the Channels and Coffee, Instant Beverages and the Chocolate Categories. His responsibility extended into the Management and Control of Total Trade Spends for these Business Units.

Gerhardt was responsible for Generating Demand (Sales & Marketing) of Nestle Angola.

Prior to this Gerhardt was the Country Manager for Nestle Angola Limtada. Gerhardt was responsible for Generating Demand (Sales & Marketing) of Nestle Angola and determining the correct Route to Market options for the various Channels in which Nestle operates in Angola. Gerhardt managed the best sourcing options of products for the Angolan market, managed the Warehousing and Distribution operations and ensured sound financial control and reporting.

In one of his previous roles, as Sales Capabilities Manager, he was accredited to Train Customer Management Best Practices One (CMBP) in the Zone AOA (Asia, Oceania and Africa) and he attended the Field Management Best Practice Centre of Excellence training in Bangkok, Thailand.

Gerhardt's key projects to date include:

  • Field Sales restructuring for Crown National Inland Branch for a period of 6 months in the Fresh Meat Industry
  • National Field Sales restructuring for Danone Southern Africa for a period of 18 months in the Dairy Industry
  • Bottom of the Pyramid (BOP) project for Danone Southern Africa for a period of 4 months in the Dairy Industry
  • Customer Satisfaction Survey for Foodcorp Milling (Routo Mills) for a period of 1 month in the Bakery Industry
  • Order To Cash Process project for Danone Southern Africa for a period of 1 month in the Dairy Industry
