Masingita Mazibuko, Senior Associate Marketing & Shopper Consultant at Aperio

Masingita Mazibuko is a senior associate at Aperio, a business consulting company focused on accelerating growth of FMCG brands in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Masingita has 17 years’ brand marketing experience working with companies such as Unilever, Foodcorp, Tiger Brands, Nestle, Audi, GSK, ADT, SAB and RCL Foods. Her specialty areas include category & brand strategy development, portfolio strategy, positioning, new business development, integrated communication planning, capability building, facilitation, consumer and shopper marketing.

With a B Com Honours (Management & Marketing), Post Graduate Diploma (Marketing), Management B Social Science (Economics, Human Resources) Masingita spent 15 years at Unilever working across a plethora of categories from deodorants, skincare, laundry detergents, haircare and tea. She worked with multi -cultural teams locally in South Africa, India and the United Kingdom.

After leaving Unilever, Masingita worked in a marketing consultancy as an Associate Brand Director where she developed strategic solutions across multiple industries in areas such as brand positioning, marketing understanding, market segmentation, packaging research and innovation development, as well as qualitative and quantitative insight/research. She facilitated numerous international workshops in Scandinavia, Chile, Indonesia and Bulgaria.

Her role at Aperio is to build client’s businesses and brands via her strong FMCG marketing and shopper marketing expertise.

Masingita has a long list of accolades including being a founding member of Young Leader Connect and secretary of steercom 2014; a columnist for Marklives.com 2013,2014 ; on the Judging Panel for We Africa 2015, 2016; and the Apex Judging Panel 2015.

She is also in the process of studying for her Master of Commerce (Management) at UNISA.
